DDGM Alfred in June: Celebrating Freedom from Oppression and Ignorance

The Philippine Revolution of 1896-1898 is said to be Masonically inspired and in celebration of the country's 127th year of independence from Spain's colonial rule, DDGM Alfred led the subordinate Lodges of MD Nueva Ecija East and Aurora and Appendant Bodies in commemorating with the Municipal Government of Talavera the heroism of brother Masons who fought for the country's freedom. Echoing Grand Master Raul Canon Jr.'s Independence Day message, DDGM Alfred in his keynote address spoke of each Mason's moral duty in nation-building, that placing country above personal interest is an act of heroism itself, and urged all Masons to honor the memory of their forebears by "becoming living stones for nation-building" and to transform Masonic Lodges into workshops to retool Masonic values towards ensuring that brotherly love, relief, and truth will prevail.
